The American Bar Association's Commission on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI), as one of the four ABA Goal III Entities, leads the Association's commitment to diversity, inclusion and full and equal participation by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons in the Association, legal profession, and society.

Multi-series webinar program hosted by the ABA about the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI), which is a network of private youth programs, therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment centers, religious academies, wilderness programs and drug rehabilitation centers. This industry has thrived for decades despite constant allegations of child abuse, neglect, dangerous treatment practices, and negligence resulting in death. American Bar Association President Patricia Lee Refo sent a letter to Michael Williams, the Principal Deputy General Counsel in the Regulations Division at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, opposing a proposed rule that would make admission or placement determinations based on sex in facilities under community planning and development housing programs..
